Britta Schmitz
Britta has been with the Findhorn Foundation since 2009. After she participated in Experience Week she decided to move to the tiny, remote Isle of Erraid on the West Coast of Scotland, to join life in a spiritual community. Living in harmony with the land, the sea and the moon, celebrating the changes of the seasons with the ancient Celtic Festivals had a deep impact on her life.
When she felt that her time on Erraid was coming to an end she moved to the Findhorn Foundation Community in 2014, where she has been living since. She held many different roles within the Foundation, e.g.: facilitating the team of the community’s food producing garden ‘Cullerne’, holding spiritual core programmes, and taking care of heart based communications on Social Media and in emails.
Before she visited Findhorn she studied to be a primary school teacher and did her PhD in media and education. Ancient practices of earth based spirituality like fire walking and moondancing, visiting the monastery at Taizé, and her time on Erraid, Iona and Findhorn have influenced her connection to nature, Spirit and all beings seen and unseen in a significant way. She is passionate about supporting other people in experiencing the magic of nature and the Great Mystery in their own ways.
