Exploring resilience, meaning and inner strength as resources for navigating daily life

Grounded in the spiritual community of the Park Ecovillage, Findhorn

In a world shaped by increasing uncertainty, rapid change and growing complexity, many people are searching for ways to stay grounded, connected and inwardly resourced.

Finding Inner Sanctuary offers an experiential week of reflection, renewal and practical exploration within a supportive environment.

Drawing from transpersonal and positive psychology, reflective practice, nature connection and the lived experience of community, the week invites participants to explore what supports your deeper wellbeing, resilience and meaning, both individually and collectively.

The programme is co-facilitated by Diana Whitmore, founder of the Psychosynthesis Trust in London, who studied with Roberto Assagioli, alongside Christine Lines from the Findhorn Foundation core curriculum team. Together they bring decades of experience in education, personal development, group facilitation, coaching and transformative learning.

What Finding Inner Sanctuary offers

As the week unfolds, you are invited into the rhythms of community life. Through shared meals, group activities, nature connection, moments of silence and time together, we explore:

  • Practical ways to remain grounded and resilient during times of uncertainty and change
  • How attention, awareness and inner listening can support a stable sense of Identity and foster wellbeing
  • Ways to strengthen the experience of meaning and belonging
  • How psychosynthesis and transpersonal approaches to human growth can provide models of Self Realisation
  • Our Vision and Values and how they can serve as a compass during times of uncertainty and change
  • How we can empower our lives, reframe our challenges and turn obstacles into stepping stones
  • Multiplicity and conflicting parts to our personality
  • How we can express our deepest Self in everyday life
  • Connection, belonging and the role of community in supporting wellbeing
  • Nature as a source of restoration, presence and perspective

The week combines experiential learning, open dialogue, active listening, reflective inquiry and embodied practice in an accessible and down-to-earth way.

The Park Ecovillage, Findhorn

Finding Inner Sanctuary is rooted in the spiritual soil of the Park Ecovillage at Findhorn, a place with a long history of exploring the inner dimensions of life, conscious relationship and regenerative ways of living.

The Park offers a unique combination of natural beauty and simplicity. Surrounded by dunes, forest paths, the beach and bay, and the wide skies of the Moray Firth, it provides a supportive environment to slow down, reconnect and listen more closely – both inwardly and outwardly.

Accommodation

You will stay in simple, comfortable accommodation within or close to the Park Ecovillage. Rooms are shared, supporting the sense of togetherness and community life that is central to the experience.

Meals

Enjoy nourishing, vegetarian meals prepared with care, using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients where possible. Eating together is treated as a practice in itself: a moment to arrive, connect and experience community through sharing a meal.

Most dietary requirements can be accommodated; please let us know in advance.

Who this week is for

People join Finding Inner Sanctuary for different reasons:

  • People seeking space to pause, reflect and reconnect with themselves
  • Those navigating change, transition, uncertainty or burnout
  • People working in education, social enterprise, healthcare, leadership or community settings

What you take home

The experience you take home will be uniquely your own.

It emerges through engaged participation, openness and lived experience. Many people leave with a renewed sense of connection, subtle shifts in how they listen and relate, and a deeper trust in their own inner resources – qualities that continue to unfold long after returning home.

Finding Inner Sanctuary is an invitation to pause, breathe and reconnect with what can sustain you inwardly in changing times.

The week offers deep renewal and meaningful connection, igniting compassion and empathy for ourselves and others. Nurture the inner qualities that help individuals and communities respond creatively to an evolving world.
